So we're staying at Beth's place for a while because:
a) her and her family are amazing.
b) Amber's Gpa's place was getting to us really badly.
So tomorrow I go on a jobsearching crusade and try my luck at a couple of other places. Walmart included. If I get a management job there I'd be pretty happy, even if it is Walmart.
But a the music director of the country radio station from Rawlco radio (a local radio conglomerate), Kayla's Dad, gave me his card today and asked me to go in tomorrow and drop off my resume. So I bet you can guess what I'll be doing tomorrow.

Hopefully I hear something back in the next couple of days. If not, I think I'm going to go crazy. I hate not being secure. And this is pretty much the most unsecure I've ever been in my entire life, and it scares the crap out of me.
A lot of people have said that I might be over qualified for the jobs I'm going for. That really shits me. I can do the job, you know I can do the job, so why don't I have a job? Argh.
And I really don't want to sell my soul to Walmart.

Anywho, things are awesome here in Canadaland. One thing that's very strange though is the fact that the sun doesn't go down until 10pm at night, and dusk happens at around 9:30. It's god damned weird. Apprently the sun rises at like 4am in the morning in Summer. Argh. The sun is trying to kill me.
The last two weeks have been solid fun. Amber's been back at work for the last week and I've been submitting my resume everywhere I'd like to work. I'm checking into the Canadian Government to see if they can put my skills to any use. The manager at Staples seemed very, very keen to have me there, and two of the guys I know work there and have encouraged me to start there too. But I still need to get a call back about an interview.
But if all else fails there's always Walmart.
Amber and I are looking at a couple of places at the moment to move into and I hope we get a place that allows pets. I went to a couple of pet stores with Amber's Mom today and I really want a random obscure pet. I'd love to get a Tarantula or a Scorpion and name it Tarantulas/Scorponok. But some kind of snake or lizard would be very cool too. Amber already has a Ferret named Charlie (the unicorn) but he's very close to Amber's Mom's ferret Bugsy. And they don't really want to separate them.
I bought the most random obscure trade paperback ever the other day. Superman and Batman versus Alien and Predator. It really is as dodgy as it sounds.
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin has eaten my soul. It's such an awesome game. If you have a DS you owe it to yourself to try it out. Unless you live in Australia and they want to charge you $80 for it. Come to Canada and buy it for $15. Seriously.

Barricade, with Bumblebee's paint job. I'd love to kitbash a Barricade figure with these colours.

It's a Tommy Iommi (of Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell) signature Epiphone SG, complete with two Iommi humbuckers. I got it for just under $600 and it plays as good as a Gibson SG would for $3000. I'm so unbelievably happy with it...
Whoot.

I apologise right now for the lack of pics - I'm pretty sure I left my camera at Beth's place. Speaking of Beth, both her and her progenitors are awesome.
It's soooo different over here. Holy crap. It's just the little things that trip me out. But anyway.
Amber and I are back together finally, and it feels so good. Her Mom said that we were both just beaming. And we have been. Constantly.
Until I started to get sick yesterday. I felt really tired all of a sudden, and I spent most of last night with a fever. I'm feeling a lot better now - I think it was just a mixture of a new climate, jet lag and a little bit of the flu, which is always fun. Amber was nursing me back to health until about 3am, which I can't imagine was much fun.
I've bought myself an awesome new rig for my guitar. As soon as I can get pics I'll put em on here.
The guitar is an epiphone signature Tommy Iommi SG. It's a $600 guitar, but plays like a $3000 guitar. I also got a Zoom USB effects pedal and a small Marshal valve amp. So I'm ready to start practicing my arse off and will be able to play gigs with the equipment I have. My bandmates that I've met thus far are awesome. Can't wait for our first jam.
God damn I wish I wasn't sick.
God damn I love Amber.

Hm :)
It was so bad saying goodbye to Mum and Grandad this morning. I know Grandma would have been really disappointed to not be able to see me off, and I was a little disappointed too. I’m really going to miss her and Mum the most.
At the time of writing this entry obviously I haven’t landed in Canada yet, but won’t actually be able to upload it until I get to Canada. Crazy eh? (Well, now I have a wireless hotspot to use at the Narita airport... WHOOT)
My flight was very good, and very bad at the same time. The take-off was awesome. It’s a feeling I’m not going to forget quickly. I was flying with Japan Airlines and all the movies you could watch were dubbed in Japanese. And I couldn’t listen to my mp3 player or anything. It was a LONG flight, and I couldn’t sleep (Yeah Triddy, you were right, you bastard). More than anything I got eaten by boredom, and the pressure of the cabin was getting to me. My ears have always given me trouble, and they popped a lot on the way up/down. That wasn’t very comfortable at all.
Being in Japan is amazing though. It’s a completely different culture. I landed in Narita and caught my bus to the hotel. Driving through the countryside was a real culture shock. There were traditional Japanese houses mixed with modern, and there was the odd farm in the middle of the city. Very strange!
So I’ve tried Japanese Coca-Cola and it doesn’t taste as good as the Queensland Coke. It’s a little more bitter and not as sweet. But I also found some Dessert Pockey. Oh my god it’s so fucking good. POCKEY
Anyway, I’ve got an 11 hour flight tomorrow, and it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to go shopping for Takara Transformers. Sigh. I should get some sleep.
It’s hard to believe that I’m less than 48 hours away from seeing Amber again. I can’t wait.

I had a really good two week's break. It was absolutely fantastic and I caught up with so many people. Lots of fun. Nothing else to report really. I'm staying at Tristan's place tonight and it's so weird... he's sleeping in my old bed, and I'm sleeping in his own bed. WEIRD.
I love you so much darling. See you in a couple of days <3
And yes, I AM nervous as fuck.
Catch you on the flip side, eh?

Sometimes I think youtube exists only to provide me with excellent comedy.
So I've picked up both deluxe allspark Brawl and leader class Brawl in the last week, so here's my thoughts.
If you’ve already owned the deluxe Brawl figure, you know what you’re in for. He’s good when he’s standing there on display, but trying to pose him is a pain in the arse. His shoulder joints don’t stay in place at all and it’s a real test of patience trying to get him into a decent pose.
Vehicle mode is exactly the same as the original deluxe Brawl figure. There are no other new paint apps on vehicle mode at all.
On robot mode the allspark blue is very prevalent. Unlike Allspark Power Barricade, the allspark blue doesn’t overpower the figure. Instead it highlights the design and really brings it to life. And Brawl now has a blue goatee. How freaking awesome is that?
Leader class Brawl is a totally different beast. He's armed to the teeth with weaponry and he actually has decent shoulder joints. Robot mode is extremely detailed and after compairing him to the movie model I can see that they've packed a lot into this figure directly from the screen. I think the colours could have been a little darker and more industrial, but it is just a toy.

He has articulated fingers which make for a lot of cool insane killing machine poses, which is really what Brawl does best. The only thing that lets this figure down is the feet. They're a little awkward to pose and there is a lot of kibble just hanging off the back of his legs. One huge positive about this figure is that it doesn't come with any projectiles! No accidentally firing off the missiles and losing them!

His tank mode is much better than the deluxe version. The cannon isn't oversized and it's a lot more faithful to the movie design. The electronic features of this figure actually work with it instead of hampering posability like a lot of other leader/ultra class figures. You can turn the top turret one way for one sound effect, then the other way for a different sound effect. You can also press the main turret for a shell-firing sound effect. Very cool.

Here's a couple of comparison pictures of the deluxe and leader class Brawls.

Leader Brawl is awesome. Pure awesome in plastic form. Deluxe Brawl is still good, but Leader Brawl takes a huge steaming dump on it's chest.
Bring on leader class Bonecrusher!
